Hey!
As stated last month, we’re going to share 3 things every month about what we’re thinking about/what’s taking real estate in our minds. Very raw writing here, but powerful thoughts from Matt and I!
Here are the 3 things for April 2022:
#1 - Distraction is a Destructor of Direction
Distraction is the destructor of direction. It’ll pull you in so many that you don’t have one. It’ll take away your focus, it’ll steal from your relationships, your joy, and the amazing places you’re headed. This is so hard for us as life is full of them. Our phones, the TV, work, people, they’re everywhere. It’s hard but a worthy notion to at least be aware of as distractions will only continue to grow around you.
#2 - Patience vs. Stagnation
The discrepancy between patience and stagnation is subtle yet extremely impactful. We often preach patience as a key component to success yet in doing so, we often confuse ourselves with stagnation. Patience should not be conflated with waiting around expecting something to happen.
The only way to success is through action yet even through action failure is inevitable. This progression from action to failure highlights why the people who find the most success master patience. If one course of action fails, be patient and keep trying different approaches built upon learnings from failure.
#3 - Consuming Information Doesn’t Mean Much
We never want to be just a consumer of information via reading, watching, listening, etc. You can be the smartest person in the room, but if you’re just going to hold that in for yourself what’s the point?
It’s important that we output what we’re learning. The more creative the better, but the general goal is to get the production side of the ratio outweighing the consumption side. 👷🏼
We put together a new post on what entrepreneurship means through the lens of redemptive cultural impact.
Our thesis:
Entrepreneurship is an open, blank canvas for you to step into, for you to discover who you are -- for you to explore your calling to create.
